Patrick H. Busse - Patrick H. Busse is a Partner at DeHaanBusse, LLP. Since entering this area of practice, Mr. Busse has focused on making certain his FERS/CSRS clients receive fair and equitable treatment, as well as all of the disability benefits they are entitled to according to the law.

Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Busse has been involved in numerous Class Action Lawsuits, including arguing motions for summary judgment. In the course of litigating various actions in front of the Federal and State Courts of New York, Mr. Busse has argued various motions, including but not limited to, summary judgment, discovery, and motions to dismiss. In cases involving the arbitrary and capricious standard of review, Mr. Busse has argued motions for additional discovery and has obtained depositions of in-house medical directors, in-house counsel, as well as claims representatives. Mr. Busse has litigated cases in the Southern District of California, Middle District of Florida, and the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

Immediately prior to forming DeHaanBusse LLP, Mr. Busse gained experience with Binder and Binder, PC, as part of their Long-Term Disability Department.

During the first half of his career, Mr. Busse worked at the Suffolk County Attorney’s office in the litigation bureau, and in the Law Department for the Suffolk County Court in Riverhead as an intern. He then moved on to work as an associate attorney practicing general litigation in New York with an emphasis on matrimonial, family and real estate law.

Mr. Busse graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law and Society. He received his Juris Doctor at The Vermont Law School.

Mr. Busse is admitted to the Appellate Division for the State of New York, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, Western and Northern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Administration, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the Suffolk County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Council, and National Organization of Veterans' Advocates (NOVA).
