Testimonials

Dear Partners of DeHaan Busse:

There really are no adequate words to describe my appreciation  and indebtedness to your firm, in particular, an extraordinary attorney, Paul Kampfer.  I had to apply for long term disability this spring and found a maze of secrecy, obfuscation and information passed out on a need-to-know basis.  When someone is ill and does need disability, I cannot imagine telling them to do it on their own – everyone needs a ‘Paul Kampfer’ at their side.

This has been a very difficult year (a few years leading to 2010) in terms of admitting I need to retire, finding a lawyer to help with processing required claims.  The endless probing, annoying doctors, and Paul stood sentinel and resolute often when I was dissolved to a short circuited, weepy mess.

I am writing because my claim for disability could not have been approved without Paul’s attention to details, persistence and above all, patience and encouragement when I was sure we might be defeated.  He, Mr. Kampfer, is an example  of the best characteristics in law – wisdom, patience, compassion, and humor.

Please know I am eternally grateful to both Paul Kampfer and DeHaan Busse LLP for superb representation.

Sincerely, R.S.

Thank you for all of the quality time and patience you have spent thus far on my case. Your knowledge and expertise, as well as your kindness and compassion and support have been a great source of comfort at such a very stressful time in my life. It has and will not go unappreciated. Although I hope I may not need your services in the immediate future, I know that at some future date I can count on you for a job well done . . .

Most sincerely,
C.R.

Many thanks to you and your staff for the diligent, professional and of course, successful manner in which you obtained my settlement. I was able to survive through some very difficult times . . .

Just a note to thank you for your kindness in the way you handled my request and needs in regards to the pending Mass Mutual case. A.R. was right. You are a good man and a good friend. He said that I am in good hands. I know I am.
Thank you so much.
M.C.

We want to thank you and your staff for the time, effort and understanding that resulted in a successful outcome of our appeal.

Thank you.
B.N.

Sincerely,
J.M.

QUESTION: How is my high-3 salary calculated?

ANSWER: Remember that your high-3 salary is calculated upon your base salary, alone. To figure it out, take the average of your highest base pay for any three years of consecutive service. While your highest base pay usually falls in your last three working years, it may be that you earned a higher salary at an earlier period in your federal career. If this is the case, your high-3 will be based upon that higher number.

    • Why Disabled Clients Should Worry About "Independent" (Insurance) Medical Exams (IME's) February 4, 2012
